The Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) is a researched based observation tool that is used to help teachers and schools improve the effectiveness of classroom interactions. Adult and child interactions promote infants’ social, emotional and cognitive development. These interactions lay the foundation for all subsequent child development making a focus on strengthening connections absolutely critical for improving child outcomes.
During this session, participants will:
- Review infant development and classroom implications
- Learn about the domain Responsive Caregiving
- Understand the four dimensions within Responsive Caregiving
- View exemplary videos
- Reflect on the CLASS tool and understand the link between effective teacher-infant interactions and child outcomes
