CLASSICAL MUSIC MASHED WITH CLASSIC ROCK

Long before rock music was around, classical composers like Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig von Beethoven and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart were the “rock stars” of their time. Gifted musicians, sometimes bad boys, prodigious composers, all garnered even more acclaim after their deaths. Not only did their music live on, gaining increasing popularity, few people realize the impact classical composers have had on today’s rock music.

Classical Blast seeks to share that story with their concert show, “From Bach to Rock: A Musical Metamorphosis.” On Saturday, August 24 at 9pm Classical Blast brings that show to Hobart Arts Theater, 230 Main St, Hobart, IN

Tickets are $15 in advance/$20 at the door. Tickets available at: The Hobart Art Theatre box office, The Brickhouse Bar & Grill (230 Main St. in Hobart) and The Record Bin (218 Main St. in Hobart). Tickets available online at: www.Eventbrite.com.

The band rocks out music usually heard in symphony halls, melding famed classical pieces with classic rock songs by bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Cranberries, Audioslave, Muse and so much more. It’s a musical thrill ride through the ages… the past, present and future together in perfect harmony.

Despite their unusual instrumentation: Kelsee Vandervall on cello; violinist, Scott Daniel on violin; Sophie Monroy on acoustic guitar & vocals; drummer-vocalist Dave Kelly and Bill Syniar on bass, Classical Blast is a rock band through and through.

“If you’ve never heard Scott’s violin solo on Guns & Roses’ "Sweet Child," you don’t know what you’re missing,” says long time rock bassist Bill Syniar. Syniar not only performed on albums and toured internationally with Survivor ("Eye of the Tiger"), he’s written music for bands like the Doobie Brothers and performed on countless rock album projects. Cellist, Kelsee, has toured with hip-hop artist, J Cole and performs on John Legend’s Christmas album. She has also appeared on the popular Fox Network TV Show, “Empire.”

Classical Blast signed with Seattle-based Toucan Cove-Universal Record Label in 2015 and released “Metamorphosis,” their second album, on that label.
