Class: Trees 101
Event Information
Description
Do you want to play a greater role in re-treeing D.C.? We need your help to protect and promote trees in our urban forest!
This workshop is the first step in becoming a Citizen Forester of Casey Trees. Trees 101 provides a foundation in tree anatomy, basic tree identification and an overview of how trees function to provide the benefits we enjoy in the urban forest.
Citizen Foresters turn this knowledge into action by helping us:
• Plant, prune, mulch and water trees in all 8 wards.
• Monitor the health of the urban forest through tree inventories.
• Educate others on the importance of trees by staffing informational booths at farmers' markets and local festivals.
• Advocate for trees whenever and wherever possible.
We can’t wait to have you join our community of empowered Citizen Foresters!
