Event description

Description

SWACH is committed to bringing people together to achieve community-level progress in addressing the opioid epidemic. Please join us for the first Clark County Opioid Taskforce Meeting on March 22nd in Vancouver. This is an evolution of the SWACH opioid workgroups and convenings over the last two years. Complete details re provided below.

The opioid epidemic is the worst man-made epidemic in human history. Over 47,000 people died from opioid overdose in 2017 alone and the trend has been climbing steadily for 20 years. Opioid overdose recently passed car accidents and is now the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S. The impact of opioid use disorder and opioid misuse reaches across sectors and has an impact on diverse systems and millions of people.

We are working to create a regional forum for diverse sets of partners to come together to prioritize and drive a collective response to the opioid crisis. We are committed to facilitating this process to develop and implement the changes needed in Clark County.

We can make a difference. Join us and be part of the change!
