Join us at a new, larger location for our annual summit on children's mental health - Claritycon2019 - a 1 1/2-day event hosted by Clarity Child Guidance Center!

You'll hear from interesting and motivating speakers including:

  • Timothy Johanson, MD - Academic pediatrician at the Arizona University and co-author of GIST - The Essence of Raising Life-Ready Kids.
  • Lee Woodruff - Best-selling author and journalist and co-author of the New York Times best-selling book, In an Instant.
  • Colleen Bridger, MPH, PhD - San Antonio interim assistant city manager and formerly director of the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District
  • 20 more breakout sessions with experts in the field of children's mental health.

This promises to be another "infotaining" event for Educators and Mental Health professionals from around the state and will include:

Claritycon2019 keynote

Thursday, 7/25 Keynote - Timothy Johanson, MD, co-author of GIST - The Essence of Raising Life-Ready Kids, Speaker & Academic Pediatrician at the University of Arizona - Dr. Johanson was one of the highest-rated speakers of Claritycon2018 and returns to share more insight on resilience. He has nearly 30 years of teaching and practicing pediatrics. His clinical and research interests include parent coaching and the impact of ACE's on parenting effectiveness. His keynote for Claritycon2019 will be a new presentation on resiliency and grit.


Claritycon2019 luncheon

Thursday, 7/25 Luncheon - Lee Woodruff, journalist and best-selling author of In an Instant- As co-author of the New York Times best-selling In an Instant, Lee garnered critical acclaim for the compelling and humorous chronicle of her family's journey to recovery following her husband Bob's roadside bomb injury in Iraq. The couple has helped put a face on the serious issue of traumatic brain injury among returning Iraq war veterans.


Claritycon2019 keynote

Friday, 7/26 Keynote - Colleen Bridger, MPH, PhD, San Antonio interim assistant city manager and formerly director of the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District. - Dr. Bridger oversees the Health, Parks and Recreation, and Human Services departments and the Office of Equity. As Director of the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District she was responsible for implementing policies aimed at improving the health of the population in San Antonio and Bexar County. While there she oversaw the process to secure San Antonio's selection as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Culture of Health prize winner. For Claritycon2019, Dr. Bridger will be speaking about trauma-informed care and adverse childhood experience (ACE) and strategies to address them as a community health initiative.

Over 20 notable children's mental health professionals will deliver workshops and presentations throughout the conference.

FAQs

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes, transfers are available. Please contact the events department at (210) 593-2148 at least 2 weeks prior to the event opening on Thursday.

What is the refund policy?

While we understand unforeseen circumstances may arise, we prefer to limit refunds. However, a refund may be requested no later than Thursday, July 18, 2019. No shows the day of the event will not be eligible for a refund. Please note all registration payments must be made prior to the commencement of Claritycon2019.

Will lunch be served on Friday?

No. We will have breakfast and lunch on Thursday and breakfast on Friday. There will also be snacks in the afternoon on Thursday. Please note your registration price includes the Thursday luncheon with Lee Woodruff, co-author of the book In an Instant.

Will there be accommodations for new mothers?

Yes. There will be a nursing room available if needed.
