Claims Management and Mitigation Training - Stony Brook

The State University Construction Fund, together with SUNY’s Office for Capital Facilities, is offering a series of regional sessions on Claims Management and Mitigation. This program will be conducted by Ed Sheats of Sheats & Bailey, PPLC Law Firm. In addition to serving construction clients, Ed has an extensive record of construction contract and claims training throughout the industry.
The goal of this training is to provide practical common sense tools for your project management and Director level staff to enhance their understanding of various legal and contractual issues which arise on a daily basis on construction projects.
About the Presenter
Edward J. Sheats, Jr. of Sheats & Bailey, PPLC Law Firm
Ed’s practice emphasizes the areas of commercial and industrial construction law and litigation, and labor law for the construction industry. Prior to practicing law he worked for a builder in Western New York. Ed graduated from law school in 1983 and went to work for the United States Government where he spent most of his time in the State of Alaska as legal advisor on most major government construction and procurement projects throughout the State. This included federal real estate acquisition and the construction of co-generation facilities. Ed represented the government on contract operations and maintenance matters, as well as contract bidding, protests, claims and litigation.
