Event description

Description

Clackamas County Tourism & Cultural Affairs (Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory) invites you to be part of Clackamas County’s first ever evaluation of destination sustainability.

We have partnered with The George Washington University International Institute of Tourism Studies (GW IITS) to conduct a focused assessment of our destination’s performance on Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s (GSTC’s) 40 internationally recognized indicators for sustainable destination management. We will also work with you and other tourism stakeholders to develop a practical action agenda that responds to the priorities identified from this assessment.

The objectives of the focus group meeting are to:

  • Share international best practice in sustainable destination management;
  • Introduce the Global Sustainable Tourism Council's (GSTC's) Destination Assessment process and its expected outcomes; and
  • Gather local expert insights and information about the destination's performance on the indicators for sustainable destination management.
