CKGSB Knowledge Series: Importance of Traditional Family Values in Growing a Global Business

2017-04-07 · New York

A CKGSB Knowledge Series Event in Partnership with UN Global Compact China Network

Join us for a special luncheon featuring Mr. Nianbo Wu, Founder and Chairman of Suzhou Good-Ark Electronics Co. Ltd. The company is China's biggest and one of the world's largest manufacturers of diode with a monthly output of up to 250 million and 8 to 9 percent of the world's total production.

Mr. Wu has a reputation as a true champion for corporate social responsibility and sustainability, taking a very unique and interesting approach. A few years ago, he made employee happiness the mission of Good-Ark and believes good entrepreneurs should treat their companies as their families, and their employees as their family members. Since implementing this approach, Good-Ark's market value and production levels have significantly increased while employee turnover has declined to less than 7 percent (the average turnover rate in China's manufacturing industries is nearly 30 percent).

Mr. Wu will expand on his unique CSR philosophy at this luncheon event.

Sandwiches will be provided.

Please note: The presentation will be conducted in Chinese but simultaneous translation in English will be provided.

Individual event is at a $30 fee; free for 2017 Knowledge Series Members. Event is free to credentialed media.

Mr. Nianbo Wu

Founder and Chairman of Suzhou Good-Ark Electronics Co. Ltd.

Nianbo Wu, MA in philosophy from the Nottingham University of UK, is the founder and Chairman of Suzhou Good-Ark Electronics Co. Ltd. Among the many accolades he has received, he is the Standing Committee Member of the 14th and 15th Meeting of the National People’s Congress; Honorary Vice President of Jiangsu Welfare Foundation for the Disabled; Deputy Director of Jiangsu Civil Enterprises Committee of China Democratic National Construction Association, and Deputy Director of China Semiconductor Industry Association Branch of Discreet Semiconductors. Suzhou Good-Ark is also the largest rectifier diode manufacturer in China.

Chairman Wu believes that the ultimate objective of a business corporation is to sustain itself for the sake of social harmony and the happiness of its employees. By reviving traditional Chinese family virtues, family lessons, family rules and family enterprises within the companies since 2001, he has cared for and ran his companies as if they were one family. He studies and explores the “Family Culture” features in the Chinese Management model. The company employees thus fondly address Chairman Wu as the Patriarch. Chairman Wu wishes to motivate 20 corporations and organizations to share the same dream and vision with him, together as the sons and daughters of this planet earth, earnestly building up a spiritual home for mankind.
