MAIN CONFERENCE: April 6 & 7, 2017:

THEME: The Future, Available Now: Expanding opportunities and promoting student success through internships and work experience.

Join internship and work experience professionals from around the state to learn about, discuss and share information around creating and supporting our incoming workforce in effective, creative and proven ways. This conference will be full of workshops, presentations from leaders in relevant areas as well as time to build your network and connect with colleagues. Bustling Union Square, San Francisco is the setting for this upcoming event and we invite you to grab your seat TODAY and schedule yourself for a great experience.

PRE-CONFERENCE SESSION: April 5, 2017 10:00 - 3:00

Designed for new professionals (less than 3 years in internship/work experience area), this session establishes baseline information, vocabulary and processes integral to any successful internship program. Participants will come away with a binder of essential information, connections with colleagues throughout the state and confidence in their new role. (Separate advanced registration required--see Ticket section for more details)

Who typically attends this conference?

We have a combination of two- and four-year collegiate internship and work experience coordinators, instructors and support staff PLUS employers who have or want to develop an internship/work experience program serving college students PLUS graduate students who are interested in working in career, internship or student services at the collegiate level AND anyone else who believes in the importance of work-based learning in career exploration and development.

Why do you call it both "internship" AND "work experience"? What's the difference?

A portion of our members are from CA community colleges where this type of activity (learning at a workplace rather than a classroom) is called by state regulation "cooperative work experience" while other schools and companies may call the same thing an "internship" (or co-op, externship, service learning). We consider it all along a spectrum of applied learning outside of the classroom in support of personal and career development and our organization and activities address all these types and needs.

What if I have dietary restrictions/food requests?

Can I update my registration information?

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, we will have a check-in list with all paid RSVPs at our welcome table.

What is the refund policy?

We need to commit to our hotel and food count early to secure low rates and ensure the correct amounts and charges so full refunds (minus $10 processing fee) are available up to March 24. Partial refunds (50%) are available up to April 4, 2017. If you experience an emergency after that date, please contact our Conference Chair at
