Civic Engagement Beyond Voting: How You Can Get Involved
Event Information
About this Event
What does a more just daily practice of civic engagement look? How can your civic action support the work that marginalized communities are doing to create meaningful social change?
As many civically minded people try to put their values into practice after an unprecedented election, this summer’s uprisings for racial justice, and the challenges of Covid, CUP created this program as an opportunity to explore meaningful ways to be civically engaged while taking the lead from marginalized communities.
Join us for a frank conversation with Lovelie Tejada, Manager of Community Engagement at the New York Immigration Coalition, Kesi Foster, Lead Organizer at Make the Road NY and NYC Community Funding Committee Co-Chair at North Star Fund, and Basma Eid, Program Coordinator at Freedom To Thrive.
