Halloween in Chicago: hilarious costumes, the biggest bashes, and more ghosts than beers on your bar tab. That's right - Chicago has more ghosts per capita than any other American city. So what better way to explore our beloved city during the Halloween season than with a tour of Chicago's most haunted bars and sites!? Join us for this awesome night of ghosts, ghouls, and spirits (both kinds) as we embark on a Haunted Bar Crawl!
At 6:00 PM, we'll start the night off at Fado, a classic Irish pub in the heart of River North. Get to know your fellow ghost-hunters over a cocktail as you learn the story of Fado's multiple resident ghosts, including a mischievous female from the late 1800's and a couple of suit-clad men from the 50's.
Once your arm hairs are significantly raised, our private coach bus will pick us up and before heading North, we'll check out some of the other most haunted sites in downtown Chicago, including the site of the Eastland Disaster, where over 800 people died just steps from the Chicago River bank, and the Oriental Theatre (formerly known as the Iroquois Theater) where hundreds died in a ghastly fire.
Our next stop on this creepy crawl is The Fireside Restaurant & Lounge, located on the border of the historic Edgewater & Ravenswood neighborhoods. This 106-year-old bar is located directly across the street from The Rosehill Cemetary - the largest graveyard in the city at over 350 acres. Enjoy another cocktail and a pizza dinner as you listen to stories of Fireside's phantoms from Rich - the 5th owner of this roadhouse.
Next snack on some Pretzel Crisps as we swing by the sites of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre and the Biograph Theater, where John Dillinger was supposedly killed, on our way south and to our final stop and drop-off point, The Bucktown Pub. This charming neighborhood dive is believed to be haunted by a former owner after he committed suicide. Hear the staff's first-hand accounts of the strange activities as you enjoy one last cocktail on us.
This is where CitySwarm will leave you, but guests will be welcome to continue hunting (and drinking) spirits on their own. Keep your senses keen (especially that 6th one), because you never know when one of these spooks will appear to say hello!
