CityParks Tennis - Summer 2019

Event Information

Event description

Description

CityParks Tennis promotes physical fitness while building self-confidence, and is designed to make tennis instruction freely available to kids in a fun, relaxed environment. Lessons for kids are offered at 36 citywide parks. Opportunities include free beginner lessons, tournaments, leagues, excellence programs and special events. Free use of equipment is provided for those who do not have a tennis racket. Sneakers are required.

Beginner tennis classes are usually divided into three 1-hour sessions, depending on number of participants and available courts at the park. On the first day of class, you should plan your arrival based on age of your child. Pee wee's (6-8 years old) are typically the first hour, followed by ages 9-12 and then 13-17. More advanced instruction for intermediate-level players is also available at select sites. Once the program is underway, the site director will provide more specific schedule information for that park.

If you have any questions, please contact sports@cityparksfoundation.org or call (718) 760-6999.
