The event

Brisbane City Council is trialing a new separated two-way bikeway in stages along several streets in the city centre. The CityLink Cycleway trial is proposed along Elizabeth Street, Edward Street and William Street in the CBD, and across the Victoria Bridge to Stanley Place. The project, partly funded by the Queensland Government, opened recently and use continues to grow. The presentation will cover the evolution of the CityLink Cycleway including the planning and design process, providing some background on key project challenges and discussing what is needed for it to be a success.

If the final section of CityLink is open, we propose that those wishing to join in a ride after would ride down Elizabeth St to Edward Street and up to the Botanic Gardens. We would then turn around and head back up along Edward and Elizabeth Streets, into Elizabeth Street and over the Victoria Bridge before heading towards the Ship Inn using the South Bank promenade.

Bring your bike (or micro-mobility device) because this event will consist of a 30-minute presentation, a Q & A session, and will finish with a spin along the CityLink Cycleway ending up at the Ship Inn at South Bank.
