Event Details

City of Hope's annual tradition continues with our 48th float in the Rose Parade. Your help in decorating this year's entry is greatly appreciated. 

There are various shift opportunities available, with limited space (approximately 60 volunteers per shift).

      Dry Decorating Shifts:

  • Saturday, December 7 (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
  • Saturday, December 14 (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
  • Saturday, December 21 (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)

 *Lunch break is 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.

      Floral Decorating Shifts:

  • Thursday, December 26 (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.)
  • Duarte Day - Friday, December 27 (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.)
  • Saturday, December 28 (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.)
  • Sunday, December 29 (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 pm and 4:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.)
  • Monday, December 30 (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. - completion)
  • Tuesday, December 31 (6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - clean up)

Other important information:

  • You may be asked to decorate other floats depending on the status of our float - your flexibility is greatly appreciated. 
  • We ask that you commit to a full shift as partial shifts will disrupt activities in the decorating pavilion.
  • Volunteers must be at least 13 years old.
  • Volunteers under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Close toe shoes are required in order to participate. 
  • Only water bottles with caps are allowed near the float. You may bring your lunch or a snack with you, but those must be consumed outside.
