Description

As a Kauffman FastTrac® affiliate, the City of Hollywood will host the FastTrac® Start-Up Program to help entrepreneurs refine their business concept, identify the components of a strong business plan, and access the appropriate resources for launch. At the end of the course, completed business plans will be evaluated and the top three may be eligible to compete for seed money grants. All participants will receive a certificate of completion.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Identify market needs
  • Explore risk and success factors
  • Build a business plan
  • Understand business fundamentals
  • Network with entrepreneur professionals
  • Access business, financial and human resources

Eligibility criteria for FastTrac:

  • A well thought-out idea for a new business
  • Experience in your industry
  • Access to a computer to complete assignments and access the internet
  • Conducted some basic market research on your business concept
  • Commit to attend all 10-sessions (approximately 30 classroom hours) and complete prep work (approximately 15-20 hours per week)

Important Dates:

Application Period: August 8-29

Application Submission Deadline: August 29

Notification of Acceptance: September 3-9

Program Begins: September 11

Course Dates: September 11, 19, 25 - October 10, 17, 24 - November 7, 14, 21 - December 5, 19

Course Time: 6 pm to 9 pm

Course Location: ArtsPark at Young Circle

Cost: FREE

This program is application based. Space is limited. Priority given to City of Hollywood residents, however, the strength of the application is the most important. For more information on the FastTrac Program, contact the City of Hollywood staff at 954.921.3620.
