Event description

Description

New Date! (This event is rescheduled from February dates.)

In 2015 the City of Holland adopted a Crisis Response Plan to prepare for, respond to, mitigate, and restore community balance should the community be faced with a racial or bias-incident, or perception of a racial or bias
incident. Our priority is to provide seamless response to any person(s) who has/have been victimized. We recognize that when an incident of this nature occurs, not only does the victim(s) suffer, the entire community suffers from the event.

Our partners in this effort include the General/Mental Health Community, Public Safety, Neighborhood Connectors, Education, the Faith Community, and Local Organizations that serve the public. We ask each organization to have a staff member who is trained and familiar with the goals and procedures of the Crisis Response Plan and ready to help implement it if/when needed.

This 1 to 1.5 hour training will include identifying a hate crime or bias incident, internal/external communication, victim assistance, and strategies for prevention of racial or bias-incident events. There will only be one training offered. Registration is free.
