Description

"Fall In Georgia: The Best Time to Plant Trees and Shrubs"

While many of us get energized to improve our yards and gardens in the spring, fall is the best time in Georgia to plant (and move) shrubs and trees; as well as, prepare soil for next year’s plantings. Our clay soil is much easier to work with in the fall and most shrubs and trees will do better when they have the opportunity to get established over the winter.

This free class, conducted by Master Gardeners, will cover:

Planting Trees

Preparing Soil for Ornamentals

Selecting Shrubs for Desired Location

Planting (and Moving) Shrubs

Mulching

Watering

Fertilizing
