About this Event

The Audubon Center at Debs Park is proud to present this Moth Exploration Night in partnership with the City Nature Challenge!

This is a great opportunity to spend time outside, learn something new, and meet cool people!

Although there will be many City Nature Challenge events taking place all across the world, not many are focused on our moth friends. Help Los Angeles win the challenge by coming out to photograph as many moth species as possible! We will be setting up humane moth traps here in Debs Park, so that we can photograph and identify as many moths as we can. We will be contributing all of our findings to the Los Angeles City Nature Challenge database via iNaturalist.

The event will begin with a brief overview of how to use iNaturalist, an amazing community science platform. If possible, please download the app beforehand. CLICK HERE for more information on iNaturalist.

This event is free and open to all - no previous experience is required. We hope you'll consider joining us for this awesome community science opportunity!

Please bring a headlamp or flashlight (phone lights are okay) if you have one!

Snacks and light refreshments will be provided!

Please contact tania.romero@audubon.org with any questions or concerns.
