There is no charge to participate but please register at this link so we can plan events and keep writers informed of special offers etc. As is:

City Lit writers can avail of 15% discount on all tickets.

There will be a welcome reception for City Lit writers on Thurs 27 April.

50% discount on No Childhood Back In Our Day - an evening of song, poetry and tall tales with Seamus Ruttledge, Conor Montague, Martina Evans, Emma Comerford and others. Thurs 27 April (after reception)

City Lit writers will be invited to perform at City Lit Talks Back on Saturday 29 April

There will be a private audience with Mike McCormack, author of Solar Bones and winner of the 2016 Goldsmiths Prize

Discounted writing workshops - fiction/poetry/performance/children's writing - with Órfhlaith Foyle, Lorna Shaughnessy, Josh Idehen, Martina Evans, Jami Attenberg and Claire Hennessy.

As always in Galway, there will be numerous free events and distractions.

Flights are cheap, with most planning to arrive on Thurs morning (27 April) and depart on Monday (1 May). It is a bank holiday weekend so all should book flights asap. London to either Shannon or Dublin. Ryanair are normally the most reasonable but worth checking with Aer Lingus and City Jet as well.

Dublin is a 3hr bus journey (some services are 2.5hrs). Shannon 2 hrs (aside from occassional express services, which are 1 hr).

Dublin Airport to Galway: (buses evey 30 mins)

Shannon Airport to Galway: (buses every hour)

Accommodation to suit all budgets in Galway. Anywhere around the city is good as all events are within walking distance to one another. City centre is about the size of Covent Garden.

Quite a few used last year but there are numerous options online so worth shopping around. Stay within a mile of the city centre to avoid the need for taxis/public transport.

Email with any queries.
