City Cultivators 4-H Day Camp

This is a day camp about Urban Agriculture put on by UF/IFAS Pinellas County 4-H, open to all youth ages 9-13.
Camp will be 9am to 3pm every day. Early drop off, at 8:30am if needed.
Learn about growing your own food in your backyard and about careers in urban agriculture.
Camp costs $45 for the week for early registration and $55 for late.
This camp will cover topics such as:
Backyard chickens and rabbits
Careers in agriculture
And many more!
Campers will get to go on a field trip to an aquaculture lab: http://tal.ifas.ufl.edu/
We will have speakers from many innovative, urban agriculture industries, including local farmers and business owners, and do activities teaching the participants how to do some urban farming in their own backyards or even in their own future businesses!
Who can participate?: Any youth ages 9-13. Campers do NOT have to be current 4-H members to attend.

Do not pay the $25 dues on the 4honline website, since it is a camp.
Important notes about the camp:
We will provide transportation to and from the aquaculture lab, but parents are welcome to drive their own children and participate in the tour that day (Tuesday the 11th). We will depart from the Ochs 4-H Center.
Please bring a bag lunch every day, as lunch will not be provided. We will have light snacks and water.
Bring sunscreen, wear closed-toed shoes, hats, plenty of water, bug spray, etc. We will be doing a combination of indoor and outdoor activities.
Please let staff know about any food or environmental allergies and/or medications.
Two of the camp leaders are bilingual, Spanish speakers.
