The US political system is broken.
What is the affect of big money on our government? Are we living in an Oligarchy?
Citizens Rising Anti-Corruption Weekend is a chance to explore how our corrupt system prevents progress on all major issues, encourages political extremism, and concentrates power among the wealthy at the expense of the rest of us. And it's the chance to ask:
“What am I going to do about it?”

On Friday, September 19, 2014 from 5–9pm, join us for a conversation with featured speakers Lawrence Lessig (Harvard) and Martin Gilens (Princeton) at our symposium, Citizens Rising: A Republic Held Hostage and the Plan to Take It Back.
We'll start by examining the way moneyed interests influence our government and how this has led to the institutional corruption of our republic. Then we'll have a panel discussion to learn about possible solutions and discuss what each of us can do to make a difference.
A detailed schedule, a list of participating organizations, and other details are available on our website, CitizensRising.us.

Join us at the MIT Kresge Auditorium on September 19th.
We are a local chapter of Represent.Us. We fight corruption in the greater Boston area.
We are building a non-partisan movement to pass tough anti-corruption laws in cities and states across America, and end the legalized corruption that has come to define modern politics.
