Event description

Description

Citizens for Prison Reform will hold it's Annual Meeting and host a Film Screening "Faces of Mass Incarceration". This is a National film produced by the International Prisoners Family Conference and reveals up close and personal family stories from across the U.S. One of CPR's family members is a part of this documentary.

The general public often does not realize the burdens those on the outside experience while trying to support and stay connected to their loved ones on the inside. Much unmerited shame, embarrassment and fear is associated with the prison-family, causing most to withdraw and isolate from the mainstream community. That self-imposed isolation denies the general public the opportunity to understand the impact of mass incarceration on incarcerated loved ones, families and our communities as a whole.

Pizza, salad, drinks and dessert will be provided.

CPR would like to thank the University Lutheran Church for their grant funding to provide community outreach and connect loved ones of prisoners with Citizens for Prison Reform.
