Join AIUofT and Amnesty International Toronto as we celebrate Canada's largest annual anti-death penalty event, Cities for Life 2017.

This event has two parts:

1) Daytime Conference (University College, Room 179): Networking, advocacy, and education on the death penalty. Free refreshments will be served! Featuring: Hamid Ghassemi-Shall (prisoner on death row in Iran, freed in 2013 with the aid of Amnesty International) and Aubrey Harris.

2) Evening Solidarity Event (St. James Cathedral): Speakers, musical performances and lighting candles in solidarity. Featuring: Alex Neve (Secretary General of Amnesty International Canada); James Lockyer (lawyer and founding director of the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted) and Mark J. Sandler (Criminal litigator for 37 years, recipient of the G. Arthur Martin Criminal Justice Medal and served for approximately 10 years as the Chair of the Appeal Panel.)


Note: Individuals holding Full Day tickets will get priority during bus boarding from U of T to the cathedral.
