Citation Hackathon!
Event Information
Description
Let's build tools to open up citation metadata.
We've made a start with rich citations (source) and the open article gauge (source). Let's build on those and see what we can do.
We're ALSO hosting remote access with a webinar system. To use the remote system, please add your email here.
Specifically, let's do stuff like:
- Get rich citations working with a wider variety of articles: anything using the XML NLM DTD (i.e. all of PubMed), LaTeX and BibTeX, Wikipedia and other MediaWiki projects;
- Get OAG working with more sources;
- Make a smarter self-citation detection algorithm;
- Trace multiple levels of citations to build a "dependency tree" of science with rich citation data;
- Build error reporting and correction tools for the rich citation database.
