About this Event
In That Moment: Respecting Space in Times of Trauma, Hurt and Loss
Delivering death notifications and bad news to loved ones is one of the most stressful and emotionally draining responsibilities of a first responder. Those delivering the message are expected to deliver the message with professionalism, dignity and respect. However, most training focuses on the policies to be followed when delivering such notifications and does little to address the emotion and the trauma that accompany the bad news. Join us as we explore the concept of "respecting space" in understanding the emotions of those receiving the news and in responding with empathy and compassion.
This training will be presented via live Zoom
