CIT: De-Escalation
Overview
This course is designed to give traditional and non-traditional first responders a basic understanding of de-escalation and communication skills. Topics include; Tactical communications, basics of de-escalation skills, verbal vs non-verbal communications, active listening skills, cultural considerations, identifying what is a crisis, the importance of effective communication and strategies for handling frequently encountered situations
Due to funding guidelines, this course is offered to first responders serving in Orange County, California only. First responders are defined as the first people on site to support with an individual experiencing a mental or behavioral health crisis.
There is a minimum registration requirement of 5 participants in order for this training to be facilitated. If there are fewer than 5 participants, the training will be rescheduled for the upcoming month. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Please note that we will no longer admit new participants after 10 minutes into the presentation due to the impact on the training process, information being shared and current participants.
