Description

Assisting Individuals in Crisis and Peer Support is a 2 day evidence based Critial Incident Stress Management(CISM) course designed for anyone who desires increased knowledge of individual (one-on-one) crisis intervention techniques. This program is designed to teach participants the fundamentals of, and a specific protocol for, individual crisis intervention or as sometimes called "emotional first aid". Participants will review psychological crisis and crisis intervention, critical incident stress management, basic crisis communication techniques, common crisis reactions, SAFER-Revised model, and suicide intervention.

This course has been developed for EAP, human resources, public safety personnel, mental health professionals, social workers, chaplains, paramedics, firefighters, physicians, police officers, nurses, dispatchers, airline personnel, disaster workers, and community members.

This training provides 13 contact hours. ICISF official materials and certificate included.

Parking/Room Directions

Please park in the visitor parking lot "J" near the Care Center and enter through the Care Center entrance. Take the elevators to the first floor. Take hallway to right when you get off the elevator. Turn right again at open area and Truman Room 2 is straight back.

Lunch

We will break for a full hour for lunch. Lunch is not provided.
