Event Details

We make a myriad of decisions every day in our capacity as IT security professionals, from simply scanning our alerts, to deciding on appropriate actions, to heading up critical incident response activities. How can we help our broader organization understand the threats that are being faced? It all comes down to Risk… and our ability to clearly understand the threats we are facing as an organization, and what to do about them.

In this interactive C-MUG presentation we will talk about the cornerstones of a strong risk management process, and discuss the incredible value that comes from having strong operational visibility, user based access control capabilities, and cutting edge technical controls. Along with actually seeing how the Meraki suite of products helps organizations secure their enterprises through intuitive controls and operational intelligence, this will be a cybersecurity C-MUG you won’t want to miss!

Presenter Rick Dreger, CISSP/CISA has over 20 years of experience helping a wide range of clients, including Fortune 100 companies, hospitals, law firms, associations, the Federal government, and dynamic mid-sized businesses. Rick’s expertise covers security program creation, risk intelligence assessments, next generation data protection, secure mobility, and wireless networking. As a complement to his hands-on consulting experience Rick has been a contributor to Information Week, co-authored a McGraw Hill wireless security book, and is actively teaching the capstone class for Georgetown University’s cybersecurity certificate course.

Co-Presenter Geoffrey Giulino is a Cloud Product Specialist with Cisco Meraki based in Washington, DC. Geoff was previously a Senior Systems Engineer at Aruba Networks where is focused on delivering secure mobility solutions for 5 years and at Nortel Networks where he was a wireless architect for the 5 years previous to that.

Geoff will perform a live demo on Meraki’s security platform which will cover the entire Meraki stack including the MX security appliance, MS mobility switch, MR wireless access points, and SME Enterprise Mobility Management platform.
