Description
To create awareness about heart disease prevention, CIS & Lane Cardiovascular Center are hosting free electrocardiogram (EKG) & blood pressure screenings on Tuesday, February 19th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at CIS Zachary (6550 Main Street #1000).
An EKG is a painless test that records the electrical signals of the heart. The screening can detect blockages, the thickness of the heart wall, past heart attacks and more. Screening results will be reviewed onsite by CIS providers, Dr. Charles Thompson, Dr. Babu Jasti & Crystal Hurst, NP. Madeleine Ricks will be providing guests with smoking cessation related educational information.The event will also include hors d’oeuvres, red wine samplings. This is an opportunity to relax and learn more about heart disease risks and prevention.
Risk factors of cardiovascular disease include family history of heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as smoking, being overweight or being inactive.
