Circular Tayside – Business Consultation Meeting

Venue: Perth Theatre, Mill Street, Perth, PH1 5HZ

Date: Wednesday 25th April

Time: 9.30am – 11.30am (bacon rolls, tea/coffee upon arrival)

Businesses in Tayside are set to enjoy the benefits of the circular economy with the launch of a new support programme later this month. ‘Circular Tayside’ is a joint initiative being delivered by Zero Waste Scotland, Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce, Perthshire Chamber of Commerce and environmental consultancy Ricardo Energy and Environment.

The Circular Tayside initiative follows a recent research study commissioned by Zero Waste Scotland that has identified significant economic savings that could be made by Tayside businesses adopting circular economy opportunities. The savings were found within the priority sectors of: Food & Drink/Agriculture, Manufacturing, Energy/Oil & Gas and Manufacturing where all have the potential to make significant savings.

Several local circular economy opportunities have been identified, with significant financial rewards and, ahead of the programme’s launch, this consultation meeting is being held so that key members of the local business community can help shape how these opportunities are taken forward.

  • Hear about the recent research study commissioned by Zero Waste Scotland and the specific opportunities that have been identified in Tayside.

  • Learn about free consultancy support that can help businesses capitalise on local projects, including helping businesses access project funding of up to £1m.

  • Provide your knowledge and insights and help ensure the Circular Tayside programme can have the most impact.
  • Hear from Callum Falconer, Chief Executive of Dundeecom
  • Hear from Professor Derek Stewart of the James Hutton Insititute

If you already have an interest in the circular economy and the business opportunities it offers, or if you would simply like to find out more and help shape the Circular Tayside programme, please book your place.

This event will be of interest to those in the public, private and social enterprise/charity sectors who have an interest in the circular economy, and who are keen to hear to about Phase one of this project, which identified key sectoral opportunities and how these can be taken to the next stage of exploration and research during 2018.
