When & Where
Pride Memorial Service Coalition
This event is sponsored by the Circle of Life Celebration-Pride Memorial Service planning committee, a coalition of individuals and organizations within the greater New York City area committed to creating diverse ways to celebrate our pride and love for the community. Our aim for the second year has been to conduct a service during Harlem Pride to remember members of our communities who have died; some of whom did so without family members present, or were memorialized in services where their sexual orientations were denied or avoided. We intend to pay tribute in the wake of their deaths, and celebrate the richness and diversity of their lives, including their sexualities, in ways that honor the significance they have had in our lives. We will pay proper respects to those who are a part of our SGL/LGBT families, and those who are our loved ones, friends, allies, spouses, and family.
