Event description

Description

Join us for a special ciné-concert to commemorate the centennial of the United States' April 6, 1917 entry into World War I.

To mark this historic occasion, FIAF and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy will present a special screening of the American classic Wings. One of the last great films of the silent era, Wings won the first-ever Academy Award for Best Picture in 1929.

Co-presented with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, the French Mission du Centenaire de la Première Guerre mondiale, and the US WWI Centennial Commission.

Presented as part of the French Embassy’s year-long centennial commemoration program How 1917 Changed the World.
