This event is for CT Independent Study Students (ISS) in grades K - 8, to attend the their own CIC Sponsored Local Invention Convention (LIC), a preliminary step on the road to the CIC Central CT Regional Event!
Parents of ISS students must register their student to attend this LIC - students cannot register themselves. ISS participants must attend this preliminary LIC; as with all other school LICs statewide, a percentage of ISS participants will be selected by judges to attend the Central CT Regional Event. No ISS student can attend the CIC Regional Event without first attending this LIC.
A Photo/Video Permision form will be emailed to you along with final instructions, on March 10, 2107. Please print the form, fill it out and bring it with you to the ISS LIC Check-In desk on March 16, 2017. This is your child's admission ticket.
Check-in will start at 12 Noon and all inventors must have the following:
- A display board - standard 3ft x 4 ft cardboard
- A completed invention log
- A working prototype of their invention that fits on the table in front of their display board
The LIC will start promptly at 1 PM.
While ISS participants are in their judging circles, parents and siblings will be asked to remain in the designated waiting area. Feel free to bring quiet diversions for your young children and any snacks/drinks for them. No food or drinks will be provided.
Following judging, there will be a short awards and closing ceremony, and will end by 4 pm or earlier.
Thank you for participating in this event - we are excited to include your children and we're certain that your children will have an exciting time!
This event is brought to you free of charge by the CT Invention Convention and your hosts, Goodwin College.
