Event description

Description

Minier Christian Church is hosting Good Shepherd Defense & Training, LLC to provide a full day, workshop/seminar based on congregetional safety, active shooter, and traumatic first aid.

Please join us as we go over the following:

  • Countering The Mass Shooter
  • Traumatic First Aid Fundamentals
  • Emergency Operations Planning 101

Countering The Mass Shooter
In this training, we will analyze data gathered from 48 mass shootings that have occurred since Columbine, and how following a comprehensive plan can help you to not only avoid becoming a victim but eliminate the presence of these shooters once and for all. This class is designed for every house of worship, school, business, and family in America. This is a seminar-based training and is for all age groups
*due to the content discussed, we recommend 16 years of age and older*

Traumatic First Aid Fundamentals
Could you prolong the life of a loved one long enough for the ambulance to arrive, if he or she had sustained a lacerated artery from a violent attacker armed with a knife or firearm? While most Americans are comfortable dealing with the cuts and scrapes of everyday life, and tens of thousands have learned the Heimlich maneuver and CPR, most individuals would be a bit less comfortable dealing with severe, life-threatening injuries or illnesses when seconds count and EMS personnel and the emergency room are minutes (or longer) away.
In this training we explain the proper way to access a patient, but also covers in great detail the proper way to deal with significant issues like serious bleeding, chest injuries, a compromised airway, spinal injuries, broken bones and more. It might seem unrealistic to compare what professional EMTs and paramedics are able to do with the things that non-professionals would be capable of, but in life threatening medical and trauma situations it all boils down to the same thing — sustaining the life of the patient until he or she can be delivered to the emergency room.

Emergency Operations Planning - 101
While we know there is a myriad of boxes to check off and personnel that need trained, we are unable to take the first step unless we have a proven and guaranteed map (or method) to get us to our destination. We know where we want to go, but not really how to get there.
In this seminar we'll break down the mental fog and barriers to implement a plan to get your congregation going in the right direction. Discover how you can end attacks early and minimize the number of victims in an incident with strategic planning and preparedness training.

How the Training Is Conducted:
Students will be split into three groups and will rotate to different areas within the facility, and there will be a break around noon for lunch, provided by Minier Christian Church. If you are on a time crunch, and can not attend the entire event, please let us know ASP so we can get you into the desired training group to maximize your time best.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Due to the content of the training, we recommend a minimum age of 16 years old

What can I bring into the event?
Nothing is required, however a notepad to take notes is strongly suggested.

Is this a tactical/firearms course?
Not at all! This is great, need-to-know information for as many as we can get to pack the seats! This information can be taken out of the church setting and introduced into everyday life (mall, grocery store, college, place of business, anywhere) and will be able to ensure that we are provided with the tools necessary if the unthinkable were to happen.
