Are you curious to ponder the ways in which congregations can reverse decline and thrive again? Do you want to understand the profound changes that are coming from our surrounding culture? Are you re-thinking the way in which a congregation can engage its surrounding culture missionally?

The design of this course is to help leaders understand the process more of why ministry is so complicated today. This challenge seems even truer for historic congregations that were designed for an era that is now past. This course will offer a way of looking at congregations that can begin to trigger their renewal.

Who Should Attend?

The course is for ministry leaders in congregations – both pastors and lay leaders. We believe that leaders need real reflection on how churches can thrive again, in order to be equipped for a new cultural context that we are facing today. The way the church thrived in the 1980s is very different from today.

Topics to be Covered:

Cultural Context and Its Challenges (“Toto, we are not in Kansas anymore!)

· Examine periods in Biblical and Church History where renewal occurred.

· What is the difference in a Christendom, Attractional, and Missional Congregation?

· Understanding congregations as a system and in a lifecycle

· Learn how to assess congregational history and its impact on the congregation

· How to communicate the Gospel story in a new era

· How to change the culture of a congregation for revitalization

· Recognizing the place Evangelism Discipleship can play

· Leadership Development for this season

· Creating plans for discipleship in Congregations
