The Song of the Trees

About this Event

Join Us as we gather among the trees and along the waters of Yankauer Nature Preserve. Trees offer life lessons about connectivity and reciprocity among themselves and with other species. Together we’ll reflect on what trees might offer that helps to deepening our own spirituality. We will follow a spacious rhythm of readings, chants, and sharing; walking in silence will serve as our “sermon.” During this gathering, we'll be joined by VisionDrum Circle participants and join in song with them. We will close with a brief time of conversation, light snacks, and fellowship. Everyone is welcome to stay after to drum with VisionDrum Circle.

Church of the Wild ~ Two Rivers is an emerging community, meeting in the midst of and sharing with the abundant life all around us. Our intent is to deepen our connection to the Holy by being more fully present, open and available in each moment. We learn from the earth and trees, the waters and sky, and from all living beings, human and non-human.

Bring your camp chair or blanket, water bottle, bug spray and journal, if you wish. Bring a drum if you wish. From the parking lot look for Church of the Wild signs. Our greeters will be there to direct you to the gathering area. You can anticipate walking just a few minutes on well marked trails to reach our gathering place. The surface is slightly uneven but not difficult. If you are concerned about walking or balance, email us ahead of time so that we can tell you more.

Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early so that you can park, walk to the site and settle in; we will begin on time. If despite best laid plans you are late, please do come on ahead and join the circle; one of our greeters will discretely catch you up with what's happening.

You are welcome! We welcome anyone who seeks to deepen their spirituality through time in nature. Whatever your religious tradition, or if you have none, Christian or otherwise, no matter your gender identity or sexual orientation, you are welcome here. Children are welcome too; email us ahead of time so that we can offer suggestions to make this time more meaningful and relevant for them. Dogs are not permitted at this location.
