Participants will leave this interactive, skill-building workshop with an understanding of the differences among stress, compassion fatigue and burnout. Participants will also leave with tools that will enable them to identify and work through acute and chronic stress to be more effective in their personal and professional lives. Participants will have the opportunity to examine how they currently navigate stress and learn 10 strategies to master stress and how these relate to stress intelligence© .

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify one difference among stress; burnout; compassion fatigue; and stressors
  • Recognize five signs and symptoms of acute/chronic stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue
  • Understand the value of a mission statement
  • Identify five personal values and its relation to disconnection
  • Identify one area to restructure (environment, thoughts, and/or responses) and two strategies to assist in restructuring

Serena Wadhwa, Psy.D., LCPC, CADC, RYT, is an associate professor/ program director and a psychotherapist. Dr. Wadhwa works in a variety of roles as a consultant, creator, presenter, trainer, lecturer, radio talk show host, stress coach, yoga instructor, blogger, and author. Her stress books, Stress in the Modern World: Understanding Science and Society and Stress Intelligence: 365+ ways to smooth the stress flow are both available on Amazon. Can I register at the door?

Walk-ins are accepted but admission can not be guaranteed. Check online ticket availability to confirm space and obtain any event updates. At the door registration pricing: $120.


Venue & Parking information:

Meeting room tends to be cool, please dress accordingly.

Parking and access doors on the west of the building (smaller parking lot closest to wolf road).

Elevator and stairwell access to lower level is directly across from entrance door 3.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You may find it helpful to do so, but presentation of a ticket is not mandatory for admission.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, we will accept a replacement attendee presenting a paid ticket. Attendee will need to provide his or her own professional information and CEs will be issued in the name of the attendee and are non-transferable.
