Christopher Durang'sTitanic and The Actor's Nightmare
New Orleans, LA
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Opening The Promethean Theatre Company's first season is a double feature of Christopher Durang: the short, absurdist pieces Titanic and The Actor’s Nightmare.
While the name Titanic may bring to mind the James Cameron movie, this uproarious piece by Christopher Durang is anything but romantic. Taking place aboard the ill-fated ship, Titanic follows a family of passengers, a misused first mate, the good ship’s captain, and his “daughter” as they navigate a sea of confusing melodrama on a ship that just won’t sink-- no matter how many holes they drill in the floor.
The Actor's Nightmare is a short comedic play involving an accountant named George Spelvin. Spelvin is mistaken for an actor's understudy and forced to perform in a play in which he doesn't know any of the lines.
Titanic and The Actors Nightmare run from November 30th to December 16th at Tulane’s Lupin Theatre. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 2pm.
General Admission: $20.00
