Please let us know any dietary needs! We know, we know, everyone says that but most places' idea of "accommodating" when it comes to diet are ... ahem ... lacking. Not all dietary needs can be safely met in public spaces, but we can do A LOT. So please do let us know if we can make it safe for you!

Question 2

I'm immunocompromised, is it safe for me to come?

Accepted Answer

This will be a personal assessment. Any public venue comes with risks, but we will sanitize surfaces, minimize unnecessary contact points, provide masks, sanitizer, and handwashing areas, and are asking anyone who is unwell or COVID exposed not to come.

I want to come but have energy restrictions.

Accepted Answer

That's no problem. Go ahead and RSVP, and if you're not up to it on the day we completely understand. If you're at the party and need a space to rest, we have a quiet lounge with comfortable couches and low lighting. You're also welcome to make yourself comfortable however that may look for you!

I want to come but find large groups/long events/meeting rooms overwhelming.

You're welcome here, *including* whatever your sensory needs may look like! We have a quiet lounge with low lighting, comfortable couches, books, and puzzles that you're welcome to as much or as often as you like. There are also quiet corners to tuck into if the room gets too much.

PiE is Queer inclusive/safe, right?

100,000% yes. Your queer identity is welcome and affirmed here, without question or exception.

Are any of the PiE leadership queer/ND/disabled/racialized/women+?

Between the two pastors, yes to all of these. We understand that for some folks, based on their experiences, they're more comfortable when a pastor/group leader "gets" their experience(s) without them having to explain .

Is PiE only for queer folks?

Accepted Answer

No. While PiE is an unapologetically queer affirming and amplifying space (and always will be), people find themselves drawn to "faith on the margins" for many reasons.

Do I have to be Mennonite to come?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely not! PiE is rooted in the Anabaptist tradition, and our theology is centred in this which renounces Christian nationalism and the concept of "original sin," and affirms nonviolence, peacebuilding, justice, and liberation for ALL God's children. You are welcome whomever and however you are

I have a baby/young kids, can I still come?

Of course! We can't have gender inclusivity if we exclude young ones. If they're old enough to eat the food, please include them in your numbers. If you BF there's quiet space but please don't feel like you have to leave or cover up. We only ask if they're sick, please abstain for our immuno friends
