Event description

Description

Enjoy a guided tour through the 171-year-old home to learn more about the occasion on Christmas Eve 1858 that sparked this time-honored custom including a tree reminiscent of the first tree decorated by Mary Dominis for the children of Honolulu.

The Priory Chamber Choir from St. Andrew’s Schools directed by Bowe Souza will be performing 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Choose a tour time for your enjoyment. If you would like to listen to the choir only, make your reservation at the choir only line. Because Washington Place is the Governor's Mansion, we are required to have each individual name in your party for security purposes. You may enter at anytime. Front gate will open promptly at 5:00 p.m.

A $5 donation at the home for Washington Place Foundation is suggested for adults. Proceeds go toward preservation and programs for the historic home.

All adult guests may be required to present a picture ID at the gate and may be subjected to a bag inspection. No large bags will be permitted. Free parking (on a first come first serve basis) available at the State Department of Health (Kina`u Hale Building) parking lot by entering off Miller Street.
