Event description

Description

Infield Skills (including Pop-ups), Situations and Games Camp - Capped at 16 Kids

This camp is designed specifically for 8-11 year old infielders, it is focused on teaching the fundamental skills to have long term success in the infield, including proper footwork (often never taught to kids), and skills and tools young infielders often struggle with such as pop-ups and where to go in various situations. Small numbers, quality of coaching and focus on the age group’s specific needs make this camp a unique opportunity.

CAMP COACHES:

Roberto Ramirez

Coach Roberto played for the Cuban National Team, as did his father. Roberto grew up learning baseball from the Cuban National Team players and coaches. Additionally, Roberto played professional baseball for 8 years in the minor leagues. He is an exceptionally talented middle infield coach and is great with kids.

Luis Hurtado

Coach Luis Hurtado was a rookie league manager in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. He is excellent with kids, loves working them and very knowledgable in teaching the game of baseball. He has also been a coach fo the Burn and has done a number of camps at Bayshore Little League and is quite popular with the parents of the 8U and 9U Burn teams.

Tony Thomas

Tony has 10 years of professional baseball experience as a middle infielder and utility player. He has played with multiple organizations, as high as AAA, including the Cubs, Red Sox, Phillies, Tigers, White Sox and Twins. Tony was a first team All-ACC and an All-American at FSU. He was the 2007 NCAA Player of the Year, and was recently inducted into the FSU Baseball Hall of Fame. In the off season, Tony is passionate about teaching the fundamentals of the game and loves kids. Like Roberto Ramirez, he has a positive spirit that makes the game fun for kids.
