Having grown up with carols events; these young people believe they have found the best way to celebrate Christmas and the start off the holiday season.

Featured performers:

Callum Watson

Callum Watson is an award-winning pianist, composer and producer specialising in both Jazz and Classical music. He recently won the Margaret Schofield Scholarship for composition having played at internationally renowned venues such as Melbourne Recital Centre, Malthouse Theatre and Bennetts Lane Jazz Club. As a composer, Callum has written original scores for nine theatre productions including one musical and also has a diverse portfolio of concert works which have been played by ensembles internationally. Critics see Callum “emerging as one of Australia’s most exciting composers and pianists”.

Lucy Head

Lucy Head is an accomplished jazz, blues and soul vocalist who has played with various lineups including Square 1 and Sweethearts. She has a love for jazz from France after having spent time there studying in 2017. Some of her key influences are Ella Fitzgerald, Norah Jones and Katie Melua. Lucy received the ‘Best Solo Vocalist’ award in 2015 after performing for her school at Hamer Hall, Melbourne for the Wakakirri competition. Lucy has been writing songs since she was old enough to put words to music and currently collaborates with band members to write a combination of funk/soul tunes. She has also written songs on political issues, her most recent being an evocative ballad on child marriage.

Isabella Khalife

Isabella Khalife serenades her audience with sweet sounding vocals and impresses with her multi-instrumental ability. Influenced by Ed Sheeran, Passenger and Jessie J, the emerging Geelong artist delivers her music with a distinct acoustic pop sound that leaves her listeners wanting more. Unique may be one word that is overused in the music industry, but Isabella’s voice is one that does not disappoint its very definition. It brings a sense of calm to many, as well as being strongly emotive to others.
