Inflammation Is a key topic In Nutritional Medicine. It appears connected to almost every known chronic disease — from heart disease to cancer, diabetes to obesity, autism to dementia, and even depression. Other inflammatory diseases such as allergies, asthma, arthritis, and autoimmune disease are increasing at dramatic rates.

Autoimmune diseases, specifically, affect an increasing number of people and include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, thyroid disease, coeliac disease as examples. In order to address these, it is important to identify the underlying cause. There is now emerging evidence that gut permeability and gut infections can be contributing factors to consider in any protocol. In addition, other triggers need to be consider including viruses, toxins and stress.

This seminar will discuss the current research into autoimmune conditions, key triggers and the role of diet and specifically nutrients and foods to heal the gut, modulated the immune response and lower inflammation in the body. Award-winning nutritionist Christine Bailey and author of numerous books in Functional Nutrition will provide you with a detailed understanding of the range of autoimmune conditions and practical measures to take to reduce the risk of developing an autoimmune condition as well as strategies to tackle the route causes and symptoms
