CONFERENCE DATES: September 26th - 30th, 2016
LOCATION: South Bend Indiana @ Comfort Inn and Suites
PRE-CONFERENCE: Monday September 26th until noon on Tuesday 27th.
CONFERENCE: Tuesday September 27th after lunch until Friday September 30th at noon.
Price of the 'conference only' includes a noon meal on Wednesday and Thursday.
Price of attending the full conference includes all 5 days and lunch on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
CEUs cost for MEAC are 35 dollars and for ACNM 40 dollars. We cannot promise CEUs, but did apply for them. MEAC has awarded 1.3 CEUs which is 13 credit hours for CPM's. Not all classes were approved. ACNM CEUs are still pending approval.
We will issue a certificate for everyone who attends, that says just that-you attended. It will list the classes you attened, any CEUs from either MEAC or ACNM (depending on which one you paid for). IF you did not pay for CEUs you will still receive a certificate of attendance.
AIR PORTS and TRAVEL:
South Bend Airport (international) is just minutes away. The hotel has free shuttle service for hotel attendees/guests. You need to give them your flight number and information when you reserve your room.
Chicago airports are about two to three hours away. (depending on traffic). No shuttle service available from Chicago. Chicago midway or Chicago O'Hare are the airports that are in Chicago. You would have to either take a taxi (would be a large fee) or rent a car.
On a personal note: I fly in and out of South Bend, and it is great. For the money you might save flying into Chicago, and driving, (but by the time you add a rent a car) and the extra time, I personally find it is worth the money to just fly into SB. But your choice!
You will need to contact the hotel yourself to reserve your room. Do not wait too long!

Rooms are $99.00 a night, (plus tax) for a room (Suite) with 2 double beds or a king bed suite. Price is for 2 people to a room. For each person over 2 it is $5.00 a person. Each room has a frig, microwave, and couch (folds out to a bed). Your room reservation needs to be placed on a credit card to hold (it will not charged yet).
Hotel Cancellation policy: ask them.
The hotel has a pool, hot tub and gym for your use. It also provides a complimentary breakfast for hotel attendees.
This room rate will be held until August 25th, and please reference when reserving your room: "The midwives Conference group"
If you are staying at the hotel, they offer a breakfast for their guests. The usual stuff: cereal, rolls/danish (with frosting), eggs, milk, juice, yogurt, toast, coffee and tea.
Lunches: Provided as follows:
If you are: Attending the full conference-lunch will be provided on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
If you are: Attending the Pre-Conference only, (Monday all day and Tuesday until noon)- lunch will be provided on Monday ONLY
If you are: Attending the Conference only- (Tuesday afternoon until Friday noon)- Lunch will be provided on Wednesday and Thursday ONLY.
MEALS/and WALK IN REGISTRATIONS/AT THE DOOR: We welcome you deciding to attend at the last minute, we totally get that with the business we all do. Often you can not decide until that final momma delivers. But, noon meals can not be guaranteed if you register at the door. The final count for the noon meals must be turned in on the friday before the pre-conference begins. This means if you sign up after Thrusday before the conference, noon meals are not a guarantee. And prices do not change based on meal availability. Again, Friday the 23rd is the cut off date for the guarantee of a noon meal(s).
Dinners are on your own.
There is a small frig in each room and microwave so you can do evening meals in your room to save money if you want to.

There are fast food places close by. If you want a sit down style restaurant, you would need to drive about 10 minutes to get to one. If you get back onto the toll road, and drive east to the exit 92 (a ten minute drive) there is a Texas Road house, Olive Garden, red lobster, Apple bees, Cracker barrel and several others.
In walking distance: Dunkin Donuts, Jimmy Johns, Little Caesars, Star Bucks, Steak and shake, Fazolies, Subway, Arbys.
And a couple of blocks away there is a Pancake house and Taco Bell.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Driving. Take the toll road in Indiana until exit 77. After paying the toll, get into the left turn lane and at the light go left. You will go about 1 mile (going back under the toll road) and the hotel will be on your left. You can see the hotel from the toll road, but this exit is very long, and the lane curves way out. It can be slightly confusing.
Flying in-see the above information please. If staying at this hotel, you have the option of free shuttle service from South bend airport. Parking at the hotel is free.

I camp in the summer a lot, so if you have sent a email and I have not responded with in 24 hours, I might be at the campground or at a birth. Please know I will get back with you, as I check in at home every couple of days. I do not have internet service at the campground.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes please. But I will have a detailed list of who has paid to attend so if your on the plane and think, Oh no! I forgot that ticket! It will be ok! :)
What is the refund policy?
Partial refunds are available until June 1st minus fees and expenses. After June first, there will be limited availability for refunds. This will be on a case by case basis.

NOTE: This is NOT a CMI conference. I want to make something clear about this conference. Although I have Taught at the CMI conferences and have worked on those conferences, and served for several years on the board of CMI, this is NOT a CMI event. I stepped down from the board due to personal issues, one being my health at that time of my life. I needed ‘me’ time and had to clear my commitments to the many organizations and work I was involved in. I love Brandi dearly and consider her to be a dear friend, and colleague. I would work again with her on CMI if the opportunity presents itself in the future.
