Event description

Description

At 4:15am on the 11th May 2019 people from locations all over the world will walk in hope. The reason for the early start (4:15am) is to begin the walk while the sky is still dark and finishing as dawn breaks. The purpose is to raise awareness and valuable funds for Chris’s House (Centre for Help, Response & Invervention Surrounding Suicide), the first 24 hour non medical crisis centre in Scotland. It is also a chance to remember those loved ones that we have lost through suicide and remind us that no matter what, there is always hope.

FAQs

Is the walk Friday night or Saturday night?

The walk will take place in the early hours (4am) of Saturday morning. So, if you're going to bed Friday night, set your alarm to get up and be in Glasgow for 4am..... dont worry we'll have you home in time for Saturday morning breakfast!

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

All persons under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There are parking facilities at Glasgow Science Centre. You will receive a ticket as you go through the barriers. Please bring this to the front desk before leaving to have it validated (no payment required). Where possible we encourage participants to car share.

What can I bring into the event?

Wear comfortable warm clothes and walking shoes / runners. Recommend hat and gloves as it is Glasgow and 4am!! Most importantly do not forget to wear your Walk of Hope t-shirt.

Also, please bring a photo of a loved one lost to suicide which can be displayed on our memory wall inside Glasgow Science Centre.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

If you have already paid and collected your t-shirt you do not need to bring your ticket. If you still need to collect your t-shirt on the night, please bring either a printed copy of your ticket or have it on your phone ready to show.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, dogs are more than welcome. Please remember to keep your pooch on a short leash and bring a bag to scoop that poop!

Will there be toilets?
