Event description

Description

Chris Bertish needs our help to raise funds to cover operational costs as he attempts the greatest ocean adventure: the very first solo, Stand Up Paddle (SUP) crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, from Morocco to Florida, all for charity and to inspire the world, especially the youth into believing what's possible.

Despite Chris' best effort, he was unable to secure the one last sponsor he needed to cover the operational costs of the project and he has used all of his personal funds because it was too late to turn bac

This transatlantic crossing is unsupported and unassisted, on a custom six-meter stand up paddle board/craft. The journey will take Chris four straight months (120 continuous days) to complete and all in support of charity to help millions of children.

Chris Bertish is the 2010 Mavericks Champion, Tedx international motivational speaker, best-selling author, adventurer, and waterman. With a personal motto "Dream It, See it, Believe It, Achieve It", Chris is one of the most humble yet extraordinary people you will find. Behind him is a strength and determination that fuels his belief in what's possible. The word "can't" is not in his vocabulary. He has a profound, positive impact on the lives of people he meets or hears his story.

The project will set up an annuity to pay out for the next 25 years and:

  • Provide life-changing surgeries through Operation Smile;
  • Feed and educate thousands of children in conjunction with the Lunchbox Fund;
  • Build several schools in Africa with Signature of Hope Trust;
  • Educate, engage & inspire kids throughout the world about the ocean and the importance of conservation.

Project Details:
