Yashar Yaslowitz is artistic director of Sparkill Salon Concerts at Union Arts Center (“One of the best concert series in New York” - Vanity Fair). A seasoned concert presenter, he has produced more than five hundred successful concert events over the past ten years. His use of multi-media and storytelling has drawn praise for its twenty-first century view into the life and music of the great composers.

A gifted speaker, Yashar has provided commentary for the complete piano works by Beethoven, Chopin, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, and Debussy. As a pianist, he has performed and lectured extensively on the great Romantic composers, offering unique insight into the history and psychology of the music. Recent performances include “Life & Times of Chopin” featuring Chopin’s complete Mazurkas, Nocturnes and Ballades, as well as “Beethoven: The Great Sonatas” with performances of Beethoven’s Pathetique, Moonlight, Pastoral, Tempest, Waldstein, Appassionata, Les Adieux, and Hammerklavier sonatas.

Yashar is president and founder of Soirée Society of the Arts, a non-profit established in 2005 to raise awareness for the authentic salon culture of classical music. Under the Soirée Society’s auspices, Yashar has regularly hosted monthly home concerts and commissioned “Hexameron II, Six Variations on a Theme by Bellini,” inspired by the original Hexameron Variations of 1837 written by Chopin, Liszt, and others. Alan Walker, leading scholar and biographer of Franz Liszt, wrote that Hexameron II was remarkable for “... bringing many of the 19th century’s Lisztian keyboard textures into the twenty-first century.”
