Choosing University Courses and Places

This event aimed at students considering applying to university. The event will be presented by University of Southampton Schools Liaison Officer, Paul Drinkwater. During the event, he will provide an honest and open view of the things to consider when choosing university courses and places to study. Paul will also discuss the importance of Russell Group universities, reputation, employability, types of course as well as the value of a University degree and the transition to studying at University.
The talk will include a discussion around applications and acceptance rates and will give an overview of University Admissions and the challenges facing both applicants and Universities in the increasingly competitive Higher Education sector.
Before the event starts, there is the opportunity to undertake a guided walking tour delivered by one of our current Student Ambassadors. The tour will be of the main Highfield Campus where you will visit the Hartley Library, the Jubilee Sports Centre and our Students' Union. It is a chance to learn about university life and see our state-of-the-art facilities for yourself. If you would like to attend the campus tour, please indicate when booking.
