Event description

Description

There must be a minimum of 10 students in order for the course to be held.

During this course, we will explore themes of resilience through storytelling, movement, and neurobiology. Our morning will be spent understanding the impact of stress and trauma in our bodies and brains, and we will learn 6 critical body/brain connection exercises. After our lunch break, we will learn from several techniques that incorporate mindfulness. Throughout the day, we will hear stories of resilience from around the world. Finally, each participant will create a strategy of resilience to be applied in their own lives, using elements of the course.

Lindsey Frye has an MA from Bethany Theological Seminary. She has served two international terms with Mennonite Central Committee, most recently in Chiapas, Mexico. Recently she has returned to Chiapas to complete a facilitator's training for the program, "Roots in the Ruins: Hope in the midst of trauma." She and her family of four worship at Laurel Street Mennonite Church.
