Chocolate Bank Robbery Scavenger Hunt
Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 10:00 AM (PDT)
Scavenger Hunt Details:
Starting location: Top of Strawberry Hill in Golden Gate Park
Starting: Sat, June 1st at 10am
Arrive by: 9:30am-9:45am to start planning or register for event
- Review bank security plans and pick the tools you'll need to break in
- Create your own course based on a map of Golden Gate park and where the tools are waiting
- Run for 60 minutes or walk for 90 minutes to the tools
- Use text messages to virtually pick up your tools
Run or walk 5k, 10k, or whatever k you want through Golden Gate Park. You'll interact with the criminal mastermind using text messages as your set your own course and plan your big break-in. See video from April 27th event.
Can you break in to grab your share of the loot?
Or will security reroute you to a smaller chocolate stash?
Tickets: $20 until May 31, $15 for kids, $25 at event.
Event is family-friendly, just not stroller friendly.
How it begins: You'll learn how to plan your break-in as you arrive. The earlier you arrive, the more time you have to plan your strategy and your route! The hunt will start at 10am and you will have 90 minutes to return to the vault at the start to rob the bank full of chocolate. (You'll learn how to reach your goal when you arrive.)
Directions to the start: We recommend taking Martin Luther King Drive East to Stowe Lake Dr (a good intersection for your GPS system or view Google Map). You can park along Stowe Lake Drive (which is a 1-way street). There are 2 small foot bridges that you can walk across to enter the island of Strawberry Hill after you park and from there, just keep going up hill until you reach the top. When you see the chocolate, that's a sign you're in the right place!
